AI metadata, checked before and after
Generators bake their name, prompts, model and provenance into the file. PixelScrub inspects metadata blocks and re-scans your cleaned file for EXIF, XMP, C2PA and text tags. Invisible watermarks such as SynthID are separate: metadata cleaning does not guarantee their removal.

Cleaning runs in your browser and original files are never uploaded. Under our Terms, a reduced cleaned copy of each picture is stored privately for three days.

Cleaning runs in your browser and original files and videos are never uploaded. As stated in our Terms of Service, which you agree to by using the tool, a reduced copy of each cleaned picture is stored privately on our servers for three days for the site owner, then deleted. Anonymous usage statistics are also recorded.
Does it change the file hash?
The image is freshly encoded and its SHA-256 is compared before and after. Perceptual hashes and invisible watermarks may remain unchanged.
Can I clean MP4 videos too?
Yes. PixelScrub walks the MP4 atom tree and zeroes out udta, meta and uuid boxes while preserving video samples. Other metadata locations and watermarks are not covered.
